Due Today!!

Sorry for the AWFUL picture... I wanted to get 'the bump' on the actual due date of 4/15 and since I've stopped working it's been really easy to live in 'comfies' all day... :) I suppose it fits... baby's comfy, might as well be comfy too.

Well....today was the day. Tax day. Due day. AND.... nuthin. We've got nuthin.

I have been so excited and anxious for Baby Harris' arrival. While only 5% of babies are actually born on their due date, I couldn't help but be hopeful that today would be the day. I relate my feelings to being a kid at Christmas - you know what day Santa is supposed to come but since the actual day changes every year, it's somehow a little different. The anticipation and lack of actual deadline is seriously killing me! As you fellow mother's know, there is so much gray in pregnancy and giving birth, it's not surprising a 'due date' is really just another day.

We are doing all of the things people say to do to induce labor - spicy food, acupressure, massage, lots of walking, etc. Whether it helps or not, it gets my mind off how long these last few days have been. I am so blessed to be healthy and happy, to have my amazing husband who puts up with my emotions, and all the love and support that surrounds us.

We are scheduled to be induced into labor starting Monday night - they admit me and give me something to soften my cervix, then give me the drug that should start contractions on tuesday morning. With any luck, Baby Harris will be here ASAP on Tuesday, April 19th!! Should he/she come earlier we will be so happy but are also being realistic... Baby will come when they are darn well ready!!
