Greetings!
We ventured to the lovely, balmy, Minnesota for Thanksgiving this year - we often find that going to visit family during this time of year is really fun. Lots of people are gathering in one place anyway, we can see a lot of people we haven't seen before, and it's a bit more relaxed than staying home and trying to cram in 3 turkey dinners on the same day.
It was a relatively quick trip, but we still managed to squeeze in 8 'short' hours at our fave place - the Mall of America! Mom shops till she drops, wandering each store and planning gifts for the upcoming Christmas, while the 3 boys play in the middle; going on rides, running wild, and seeing if they can beat the record for the most rides ridden in a single visit. Everyone only stops long enough to eat and grab some water.....It's amazing.
We also paid a visit to our Aunt Sally and Uncle Peter's house where we played piano and giggled. We made sure to honor those who were not with us and tell stories and laugh in their remembrance. Holidays always manage to bring up great memories and fun story telling, even if the pain of their loss is close by.
Thanksgiving itself was held at Cousin Kate and Bruce's house where the boys learned a new favorite sport - knee hockey. It was the 'white tees' vs 'the not white tees' and they must have played for 100 hours! Nate's knees were raw and extremely sore the next day! The boys had a BLAST and won't stop talking about it!
