Thanksgiving and MORE fun!

Hello!
It's officially the kickoff to the 2013 Holiday Season!  The Harris Home is particularly excited about the holidays this year because they are not overfilled with too much running about and we still get to spend lots of time with friends and family.  It is also the first year we can really get into being on the parent side of Christmas.... Santa comes every year, we celebrate by picking out a real Christmas tree, and we can go to Church and it doesn't interfere (too much) with naps.  It's the first year Cohen really 'gets it' so that's fun too.  As for Evan, he is so great, he just tags along and is so happy and cute - it'll be next year when he really starts to 'get it' and that'll be so fun too!

We started holiday season with a trip to Wisconsin to see my Grandma (Cohen and Evan's Great-Grandma), my aunt Judi, and cousin Sage for Thanksgiving.  It was a short visit but really fun.  We spent a lot of time at Nana's house cooking and playing and made a great Thanksgiving dinner.  It was a smaller group this year than normal, which was really nice.

We always go to a local farm to pick out a Christmas tree and this year was no exception.  We found a great tree this year, perfect for the boys to pull every ornament off and leave on the ground... it looked like a weird tradition, leaving all the ornaments on the floor but I got really sick of picking them up.

We also got to visit with Santa for story time at the library.  He read stories and had the kids sit on his lap.  Based on other kids terror of Santa, and Cohen's aversion to him last year, I didn't expect much from either Cohen or Evan.  Boy, was I surprised when Santa and Cohen became instant BFFs!!  Cohen probably photo bombed 15 other kid's pictures with Santa - he could NOT WAIT for his turn and stood really close to Santa during the other kid's visits.  He really loved Santa and his friendly appearance - he sat on his lap, told him a few stories, and even did a little 'air guitar' for him!  Hilarious!  Evan on the other hand, not so much.  Again, more of what I was expecting so it was cute anyway.  Actually, Evan didn't do as bad as some kids, he sat up there and stared intently as always.

We got to take a trip to see Disney on Ice for Cohen and I's first Mommy/Son Date night.  Cohen was completely enthralled - he still talks about Mickey on ice skates and about Flounder and Sebastian.  It was a great night, so fun for Cohen and I!

Lastly, it was Cohen's year to sing in the JFC church's Kids Christmas performance!  He was right in his element - on stage, singing, making hand motions, and with all the proud parents (especially Nate and I) cheering him on!  We didn't get a lot of practice time in, but Cohen had so much fun and was SO cute up there!  I'll have to show you the video sometime!

Here are just a few pictures of our adventures!  Enjoy!  We also hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.  There is SO much to be thankful for, what a treasured year this has been!
