Thanksgiving 2014

Happy Holidays!
It's a snowy day here in Castle Rock, CO... which wouldn't surprise most of us except it's the first snowy days we've had in a looooooong time.  It's been in the 60's for weeks and so warm and nice!  Great for the Mama's warm weather attitude, bad for moisture conditions along the Front Range.  I certainly can't complain... I love the warmer weather, for a little while at least.

Snowy days do make perfect 'update the blog' days, so here goes.

Thanksgiving came and went with little excitement.  We took a short trip to Glenwood Springs, CO to be together with some extended family - Ron and Martha, GiGi and Papa, Grams, and Auntie A, Grace, Abby and Mason.  The weather was nice and mild so we played in the hot springs, went to the Adventure Park, and ate and shopped.  It was a really nice getaway!

One minor mishap, which we are still laughing about, is the restaurant we picked to have our Thanksgiving Dinner at.  We had made a reservation for 3:30pm at one of the local establishments about a month prior to Thanksgiving.  In the meantime, the restaurant, after a few sale attempts closed completely without notifying us!  So as we headed there, all dressed up and ready, we saw the notice on the door!  EEK!  Luckily, there was a restaurant open until 6 just up the street, so our dispair was quickly resolved and we had a very fun and delicious dinner at the Lost Cajun (see the dress code below)!

Other parts of our Thanksgiving included family dinner cooked by our resident Chef and Cousin, Travis.  Delicious turkey, stuffing, potatoes, Mac N Cheese, salad, bread, and other goodies.  It was seriously amazing.... there's something about someone who knows what they're doing to make Thanksgiving extra special.

I also got to help out in Cohen's school's Thanksgiving Day feast.  While this was NO chef inspired meal, the kids had fun and I got a taste of what it's like to be around 19 screaming 3 and 4 year olds!  We had a great time, but boy, did I need a nap afterward!

There's a LOT to be thankful for this year.... I count my blessings every single day.  Thanks to our family and friends for being a part of our lives!

Enjoying Thankgiving Feast!

Always the serious one... Evan 'enjoying' his feast too
