Holidays 2014!

Hello!
What an amazing and fun holiday this year.  While this time of year is SO busy and crazy, it's still so fun.  I never try and hurry growing up, but I can't help but be SO excited that my kids are getting bigger and can start to appreciate the season.  All the fun lights and warmth, family time, friend time, and the general hussle bussle that is The Holidays.

On the other hand, it's a little silly what we try and pack in during such a short period.  Nate and I both have all/most of our immediate family very close by... so why is it that we have to pack in EVERYONE and THEIR UNCLE on one single holiday?  Why can't we space it out.... see one set of family in, say July.  The other in, say, March?  HAHA, I kidd. Sort of.

I'm also not trying to sound bratty, I'm truly thankful for so much family... what would we do without them?  I also LOVE that my kids know all their Grandparents and are SO in love with them (more than me sometimes, haha).  Nate and I also talked about doing something for others next year.  While we aren't quite to the phase where our kids know how spoiled they are, we want to keep our whole family grounded... so maybe, if I write it out for the world to see, we will actively pursue a volunteer 'something' next year or the year after.... ok there.  I said.  Let's move on..........

We played and ate, ate and played during this holiday season.  We got to see lots of immediate family, as I mentioned, and that was wonderful.  We didn't have anyone fly in, nor did we do any traveling this holiday and that was ok - except for Aunt Kathy and Uncle Bob who flew in for a few days (sorry, I didn't forget about you, it's just seems like you live here, haha).  While we missed everyone we didn't see, we had SO much fun with those we did see.  It was snowy, so we got to play in the cold, even taking one day to ski!  We drove from house to house to see the lights.  In our neighborhood, there is one guy in particular we HAD to visit 2-5 times per day... not kidding.  The Abominable Snowman!  He lives near us and every time we drove by him, both boys would shout, 'let's go see the Abominable Snowman!!'  It was laughable how many times we drove by.... it played music so we'd pause and listen.  I'm sure the homeowner thought we were crazy!

Some other highlights of the holidays were our ugly sweater party, sledding, opening gifts, and our newest cousins, Mattie and Sophie were a big hit this season!  First Christmas' with newborns are the BEST!  Here are a few pictures...
