First day of Kindy! And Preschool!

Happy Fall, Y'all!!  Not sure why, but that's one of my favorite sayings!  Yes, it's well past when these pics were taken again, but always fun to look back and wonder, 'what was that time like?'  It looks pretty happy, I'm guessing that's true.  But was it also tiring and worrisome and kind of a blur - YES!  (I should note, while I write this I currently have 2! sick children and am running on very little sleep, so I'm guessing my perspective is a bit different)....... anyway....... They sure are awesome!

Fall is always a fresh start for us.  Usually back to school, at least a few days a week.  Usually wrapping up summer fun, boo.  Always exciting to get in a routine but not as excited to wake up earlier.  This particular year was kind of a milestone!
Cohen started Kindergarten!!!! I know most moms cry on these milestone days, I'm probably weird.  I didn't.  I loved every minute of it!  The chance for him to learn and grow, make friends, expand his wings, and come back to me each day with a new wrinkle in his brain!  So exciting!!!
These shirts will 'grow' with them..... here we come Class of '29 and '31!!!!!

Who knew picking your child's school would be SO much pressure!!  I don't think that's always been the case, but now there are so many choices, and opinions, and learning styles, and Moms who have an opinion!  There is private, 1/2 day, full day, charter, public, montessori.... the list goes on.

If I were writing this when it actually occurred I would be saying something like, 'I think we found the school we LOVE!'  I knew our public feeder school wasn't our first choice as it is crowded, big, and maybe didn't have 1/2 day Kindy (they have the rest of their lives to go full day).  But from there I was baffled.  We entered the 'lottery' for a few of the close by Charter schools but didn't get in.  We considered Montessori but felt that wasn't a great fit for us.  A few other schools were being built, but that didn't fill our immediate need.  So we toured Castle Rock Christian Academy (even though it's at the Rock church and we don't feel that church is a good fit for us), and absolutely fell in LOVE with the Director.  He was friendly, kind, ambitious, caring, smart, Godly, and really really awesome.  Even Cohen liked him right away!   So here we are - headed to the Christian school!  Mrs Clay, our Kindy teacher, is amazing.  She wrote an email the first week of school saying how great Cohen was, what a joy in class he is, how smart he is..... all the things I know but wondered if they were really true (haha!).  She 'figured out' his personally and what makes him tick right away and ran with it - causing Cohen to thrive and grow so much! Evan also goes here, which is great for our schedule, and loves Ms Amber.  He has a small class and is timid but growing too.
I'm so thankful we are here and this is an awesome place!
